Worship Scheduler Software
Overview
The task of making worship service assignments can be very time consuming. In
small congregations, this task can be very challenging. In large congregations,
this task can be nearly impossible to do well. Regardless of the congregation
size, there are many challenges involved in making worship service
assignments.
One challenge is to make sure that all members willing and capable of
performing a specific job are periodically assigned to perform that job. When
manually creating worship assignments, it is easy to overlook members who are
willing to perform a particular job. It is too easy to just pick those members
who we know have done the job in the past or those that have performed the job
most recently.
Another challenge is to make sure the members are not assigned too many jobs.
In a smaller congregation, it is sometimes necessary for members to help serve
every week. As the congregation size increases, however, it is not necessary for
members to serve every week. Some congregations are large enough that each
member only serves once a month or every few months. The challenge is in making
sure that the worship assignments are distributed evenly among all of the
members. It can be difficult to make sure that each member is being included in
the assignments on a regular basis. At the same time, we have to make sure that
no single member is being asked to do too many things when there are others who
are willing and capable of helping.
The Worship Scheduler was developed to solve
all of these problems and more. The Scheduler
can be used to easily generate worship schedules that best utilize the members.
In addition to being able to print computer-generated schedules, the Scheduler keeps track of all the members and the jobs
they are willing and capable of performing. As the Scheduler generates new schedules, it remembers what
members were chosen to perform the various jobs. That way, all members are
rotated through the various jobs. You will no longer have to worry about leaving
some members out of the schedules and scheduling other members for too many
jobs. The remainder of this document describes how to set up and use Worship Scheduler in a way that best fits your unique
situation.
