Display/Print Standard Reports

Worship Scheduler has a customizable report builder that can be used to print reports in a format that you are familiar with. The report builder takes some time to get familiar with and to set up properly. We will discuss creating report templates in the advanced features section 4.2. A default report format is provided that just prints out the jobs and workers assigned to each job. The default report is sorted alphabetically by job. For most users, this report will be sufficient. Figure 3.5 shows the Create Standard menu item on the Reports menu that is used to display the standard report.

Figure 3.6 shows what our standard report screen looks like. The standard report will show all of the generated schedules in one report. Since we have only generated one schedule in our sample database so far, the first schedule is the only one that has any data, the rest are blank.
All reports are opened in a simple report editor / viewer. Simple word processing tasks can be performed directly in the report editor. You can edit the report just as you would a document in your favorite word processor. You can also save or print the report. The report editor does not have as many features as most word processors. If you find that the editor is too limiting, it is suggested that you save the report and open it with a full-featured word processor. The report editor will save reports in *.DOC and *.RTF formats. Almost all word processor can read either of these file formats.
